Amelia County, Virginia — Reckless Driving Defense Attorney Case Result

Repeat offender charged with class 1 misdemeanor Reckless Driving for speeding 92 MPH in a 60 MPH zone had charge REDUCED to Improper Driving.  Unlike Reckless Driving, which is a misdemeanor charge that carries 6 points on a driving record for 11 years, Improper Driving is a traffic infraction which carries 3 points on a driving record for 3 years.  Also, because Improper Driving is a traffic infraction and not a misdemeanor offense, it does not carry a potential jail sentence or license suspension, and the fine which may be imposed is much less than a fine for Reckless Driving.
