Repeat offender charged with Speeding 15-19 MPH above the posted speed limit (85 MPH in a 70 MPH zone) had charge REDUCED to Speeding 1-9MPH over the limit, resulting in less demerit points on driver’s record.  Speeding 15-19 MPH over the limit is an infraction which carries four (4) demerit points on a driving record for five (5) years, while Speeding 1-9MPH over the limit carries three (3) points for five (5) years.
