Hanover County, Virginia – General District Court Traffic Attorney Case Results

Traffic infraction for improperly displaying registration number on a license plate was DISMISSED (in this case, a ticket was issued because the decals on the license plates of the driver’s vehicle were out-of-date).

Reckless driving misdemeanor charge for speeding 92-mph in a 70-mph zone was REDUCED improper driving.  Compared to reckless driving, which is a criminal misdemeanor offense that carries (-) 6 demerit points on a driving record for 11 years, improper driving is a traffic infraction (not a misdemeanor) that only carries (-) 3 demerit points on a driving record for 3 years.
