Sussex County, Virginia — Reckless Driving Attorney Case Result
Out-of-state driver was charged with class 1 misdemeanor Reckless Driving for speeding 91 MPH in a 70 MPH zone and the driver could not appear in Court for the hearing. Attorney was able to have the driver’s appearance waived (so the driver did not have to attend the hearing) and the charge was REDUCED to Improper Driving. Unlike Reckless Driving, which is a misdemeanor charge that carries six (6) demerit points on a driving record for eleven (11) years, Improper Driving is a traffic infraction which carries three (3) demerit points on a driving record for three (3) years.
