Chesterfield County, Virginia – Circuit Court Reckless Driving Defense Attorney Case Result

Appeal of a reckless driving misdemeanor conviction to the Circuit Court resulted in a better outcome for the driver than in General District Court.

Reckless driving misdemeanor charge for speeding 87 mph in a 70-mph zone was REDUCED to defective equipment.

NOT GUILTY VERDICT! Driver was found not guilty of a 94/70 reckless driving misdemeanor charge at trial.  Defense attorney challenged evidence of speed and made a motion to strike during the hearing.  The motion was granted, and the driver was found not guilty.

A driver charged with Reckless Driving for speeding 89-mph in a 55-mph zone walked away from court without a conviction.  Due to allegedly speeding 34 mph over the limit, the driver was at risk of jail time and a license suspension if convicted of this charge. Instead of convicting the driver of the charge, the judge dismissed the case and the driver walked away from court without a fine, jail time, or license suspension!
